Park Notice

Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park is currently inaccessible and closed to the public, due to the effects of a severe storm on June 21, 2025. The storm, which included a microburst, resulted in extensive tree damage and hazardous conditions throughout the park.

Emergency workers have been actively working to assess the damage, clear debris, and provide assistance to those affected. Overnight reservation holders have been notified.

The Ontario Parks team is coordinating with local authorities and emergency services to ensure the safety of all personnel involved in the recovery efforts. Restoration plans are currently being developed. We anticipate it will be at least a week before the park is accessible.

For updates on the status of the closure of Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park, please check back to our Park Alerts webpage.
