Backcountry Camping
1. The Experience:
The lush green boreal forest and wide-open skies of Fushimi Lake Provincial Park give it a distinct northern feel. Each backcountry campsite is the perfect remote basecamp. All offer something different, from sandy beaches to the rocky water’s edge, small rapids, and incredible views of the sunset.
Many visitors enjoy the Fire Tower Trail, which is accessible by boat or canoe on the north side of the lake. Visitors can use one of the park’s seven sandy beaches, paddle a section of the Valentine River system, or enjoy excellent Walleye and Northern Pike fishing opportunities from the shore or a boat.
All 13 backcountry campsites are accessible by water only. All campsites are a short distance from the boat launch, and only a few hours paddle.
On each campsite you will find a tent pad, picnic table, firepit, and box privy.
2. Reservations and Interior Camping Permits
Campsite specific reservations are available online or by phone up to five months in advance of your arrival date. Reservations are recommended to secure your campsite.
Interior camping permits are required for backcountry camping at Fushimi Lake Provincial Park. Permits can be obtained upon arrival at the park office during operating hours.
3.Trip Planning
The backcountry access point is through the main entrance of the park at the park boat launch. A dock and parking are available.
Canoe rentals are available at the gatehouse. Contact the park for more information regarding availability.
Please be respectful of the natural environment and other visitors. Practice leave-no-trace camping, camp only on designated campsites, and be aware of your surrounding neighbours, ecology, and wildlife. We appreciate your efforts to maintain this pristine environment.
Car Camping
The Park’s campsites are quite secluded and all have electrical service. They are a convenient distance to hot showers, laundromat and flush toilets. Seasonal camping is also available.

The camp cabin is a rustic one room cabin with a rustic wood interior. The cabin sleeps five on a queen bed and double/single bunk bed.

Amenities:
High quality mattresses will provide a comfy night’s sleep. The cabin features a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and counter space. There is a dining table and chairs for inside meals. Outside you will find a gas barbeque and picnic table. A propane/electric fireplace provides additional comfort.
What to Bring:
Visitors should bring their own bedding, food, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery and other personal items.
Restrictions:
There is a 2-night minimum stay and a 3-night minimum stay on long weekends.
Please note dogs are permitted in the Cabin. Smoking is prohibited. No tents are permitted on site.

Space for one vehicle on site and one located off site.
