Boil Water

Location: Algonquin Visitor Centre - A boil water advisory is in effect. Please bring water to a rolling boil for at least 1 full minute before using for drinking, food preparation and infant formula, and brushing teeth.


Park Notice

New for Winter 2026:
- The Mew Lake Campground Office is open daily! Firewood is ONLY available for purchase during office hours.
- Firewood is also available for purchase at the East Gate and West Gate during office hours.
- Unfortunately, there is no warming tent at Mew Lake Campground this year. We apologize for the inconvenience.

- A permanent ski trail has been established at the Mew Lake Airfield, the Airfield Ski Trail. As a result of the new trail, winter back-country camping is no longer permitted in the Mew Lake Airfield. Users wanting to winter back-country camp may still park at the Old Railway Bike Trail parking lot, but will need to travel beyond the Airfield, crossing the bridge over the Madawaska River to set up a campsite.

East Gate Office:
- Daily: 8:30am – 4:00pm

West Gate Office:
- Daily: 8:30am – 4:00pm

Visitor Centre:
- Monday – Friday: 9:00 am – 4:00pm
- Saturday – Sunday: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Friends of Algonquin Park Bookstore & Nature Shop, Algonquin Art Room, viewing deck, exhibits, and a dining area with coffee, cold drinks and snacks.

Mew Lake Campground Office:
- Sunday – Thursday: 9:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Friday – Saturday: 9:30 am – 6:00 pm
- If you need assistance in the campground after hours, you can call or text: 705-571-3528

All other campground and access point offices are closed for the season.

Trailer Sanitation Stations
- Minnesing (km 23): OPEN year round
- Sunday Lake (km 35.6): Closed
- Rock Lake: Closed

Park Notice

Trails and Roads
- Hardwood Lookout Trail Parking is closed for the winter.
- Centennial Ridge Trail road is closed for the winter.
- The Arowhon Road is gated and closed at the Mizzy Lake Trail parking lot.
- The Opeongo Road is gated and closed after the Cameron Lake Road turn.

Provoking Falls Bridge Closure:
- The Provoking Falls bridge on the Highland Backpacking Trail is CLOSED due to safety concerns. The bridge has been removed. A re-route has been posted and provided, it will add an additional 2.5 km.
