What You'll Like:
An outstanding wetland complex of fen, bog, and marsh, this area acts as a water filter and a headwater (water flows north, south, and west) for both the Severn and Berens watersheds. Sampson Lake, the largest body of water found within Pahngwahshahshk Ohweemushkeeg, is situated on the south-central side of this protected area and is flanked by the northern extent of the Lac Seul Moraine. Sampson Lake is remarkable for its distinct ecological features including extensive sand beaches, and shallow, clear, spring-fed waters that support a remarkable whitefish population.
Location: Pahngwahshahshk Ohweemushkeeg (formerly Sampson Lake), is located in the northeastern portion of the Whitefeather Forest.
Park Facilities: There is one boat cache within the park.
