This popular canoe route also offers angling and hunting opportunities throughout. The isolated nature of the park is one of the main reasons for its popularity. Some principal features include hydro-managed headwater lakes, lacustrine wetlands, headwater floating fen complexes, cliffs, and rock barrens. There are a wide array of forests which range from young to old-growth. The provincially significant Rocky Island - Kindiogami Forest contains a wide variety of forest types, including old growth pine elements which survived the large Mississagi fire of 1948.
Location: The Mississagi River is located northeast of Espanola, north of Elliot Lake, and south of Sultan.
Park Facilities: There are no visitor facilities available.
