What You'll Like:
The Alexander Lake Forest, located in the townships of Antone and Mattawa, offers significant shoreline protection along the Ottawa River. This area is the best and only representative of Strongly Broken RockKnob Terrain; it also represents a good example of an Esker Outwash Complex. These valley landforms shelter remnant old growth forest and a diversity of habitat types flora and fauna and locally significant species. This contains an esker/outwash complex and steep hills of broken rock knob terrain along the Ottawa River in Site District 5E-6. These valley landforms shelter remnant old growth forests and at least 17 different vegetation associations.
